God only knows who or what prompted Charles, François and Amélie aka CLARA CLARA to force feed the alphabet to their pyrotechnic firecrackers before they sent them into space; but their second album is a starstruck and dazzling affair and the house is on fire. Larger, more exigent and talkative than their previous effort, “Comfortable Problems" is more akin to a big magic book of spells full of songs that can be learnt by heart in a fortnight and haunt your dreams under a starry night than to a ride on a rollercoaster. Capturing the immense energy of the trio in the process of an intense love strut, “Comfortable Problems” combines the likes of Fugazi (the energy), Yes (the detours) and The Pixies (smiley choruses) and should – supposedly - prompt you to ask yourself the question: when was the last time an indie rock album made you want to save mankind? Or, at least, embark a spaceship and hop into a wormhole to go explore the other side of the galaxy?

On ne sait quelle mouche a convaincu Charles, François et Amélie alias CLARA CLARA d’apprendre l’alphabet à leurs feux d’artifice dans le placard avant de les jeter dans l’espace, mais leur deuxième album est ébloui et éblouissant et la maison est en feu. Plus grand, plus urgent, plus causant, "Comfortable Problems" est moins une chaîne de montagnes russes qu'un grimoire de chansons, du genre qu’on apprend par cœur sans faire d'efforts et qui parasite les rêves les nuits de fièvre ou de pleine lune. Happant l’énergie monstrueuse du trio en pleine parade amoureuse, "Comfortable Problems" met dos-à-dos Fugazi (pour l’énergie), Yes (les détours) et les Pixies (les sourires dans les refrains) et devrait logiquement vous pousser à vous poser la question : depuis combien de temps un album d’indie rock ne vous a pas donné envie de sauver l’humanité ? Ou tout du moins, embarquer dans un vaisseau spatial et sauter à pieds joints dans un trou de verre pour aller explorer l’autre côté de la galaxie ?
