YannEncre is a great paradox. In France, no one can really put him into a category. Yann's music encompasses Gainsbourg and Jacques Brel’s songwritings, Leonard Cohen or Bill Callahan’s folk, Rachel’s neo-classicism, Nico’s bewitching melodies, Lee Hazlewood’s gloomy arrangements and organic electronica’s preciseness.
As a prelude to “flux”, Encre second opus, MARBRES EP contains a short version of Marbres, a solo acoustic guitar piece entitled Toumani Diabate (a tribute to the famous Malian Kora player) as well as two tracks recorded live during Nantes’ Oblique Lu Nights festival in 2002.
